High School Placement
My second placement was in In-Tech Academy. I taught Junior and Senior Precalculus. This was a big change from teaching the sixth grade. Teaching Precalculus is less about teaching the basics of math and more about teaching applying and adapting the basics to new problems. This placement had it differences from my last. The students are older and know what it is like to have a new teacher every period. They adapt faster to changes and give their attention when you want it. What I realized during this placement is that the students get their work done quicker, meaning I needed to prepare more for them.
Example Lesson
This lesson is a review lesson. The student where preparing for an upcoming quiz in finding all roots, both complex and real, of a polynomial. They worked in groups of four and together found all roots. After they would present their work, if time allowed.

Example Lesson
This lesson is a lesson on vertical and horizontal stretches of exponential functions. The students had to look at the function and decide what it would happen before they graphed it. After they have done that they had to graph it and answer a series of questions about the graph. This is a lesson that leads up apply exponential functions and graphs to real world problems, such as problems in finance.
