Mathematics Sample Work
There is one thing they don't tell you when you study math at a college level, they stop using numbers after a while. Most upper level math classes involve writing proof. It's a difficult transition for any student but when you get through it, it is very rewarding. Due to the challenges I faced in these classes I want my student to write in math classes. I want to be challenged and to think in new ways just like I had to do in my college math courses.
My first sample is from my Foundation in Mathematics course. This is
the first course in proof writing.
the first course in proof writing.
My second sample comes from a course call Introduction to Higher Geometry.
This class take high school geometry to a new level. We use the basis
we learned in high school and apply them to new and challenging problems.

My last sample comes from the senior capstone class know at Manhattan College as Problem Seminar. This class is the cumulation of all the math classes that came before it. Each week we where given a Problem of the Week or PoW. These problems made you think, they made you look back at what you learned and they forced you to talk it out with the entire class. We worked together coming up idea on how to solve each problem. As the weeks progressed the PoWs got harder but the more you talked the more you remembered. This class was a challenge and to get through it was the greatest reward.
